My nephew's birthday is on New Year's Day. We used to tell him that everyone loved him so they ALL celebrated his birthday. It worked when he was 4; he is now 13. We ensure that there is always a birthday cake and a gift at the family New Year's celebration. Plus, he loves that he gets a present 3 weeks in a row-- for Christmas, for his birthday and on El Dia de los Reyes (3 Kings Day). Some kids get all the luck. ;-). Happy Birthday and Happy New Year!--maria

Thank you for your perspective María Rosa, your point is well taken. However, as this was an actual passage quoted from the novel Dulce did not feel the liberty to change any of its content. Dulce strives to give its readers the opportunity to judge for themselves the quality and interest for each book promoted on its website.

Another perspective Dulce would offer is that the language (grammar and spelling) is indicative of the region in which it is based and its dialect is a true representation. Any correction(s) would therefore “take away” from the novel’s spirit.

Latino literature is wonderful and it is great to promote it, but please, do not destroy it with so many misspellings! There are very basic rules to use "acentos". I read the small passage above and every single word in Spanish has the "acento" where it shouldn't be!!!!!!!!! That is totally unacceptable..........
